1244808500 1874 Mars Attacks! (1996)“It is a normal day for everyone, until the President of the United States (Nicholson). They are able to get in contact with the Martians, and arrange for a meeting behind them and us humans. But not everything goes to plan, and the Martians have other plans for Earth. Are they just misunderstood beings? or do they really want to destroy all of humanity. Written by Film_Fan”

* Director: Tim Burton
* Release Date: 13 December 1996 (USA)

Tagline: Nice planet. We’ll take it!

Trivia: When the Martians first appear in TV interrupting the fashion show, the background when the Martian Ambassador is speaking is from the beginning of Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959) when Criswell is talking.

Goofs: Factual errors: In the movie, it’s revealed that the Martians breathe nitrogen and need to have it supplied through their life vests or, in the case of the Martian girl infiltrator, through special gum. However the Earth’s atmosphere is 70% nitrogen, which means it probably wouldn’t have been lethal to them at all.
