rivia: The first teaser for the film played in front of Cloverfield (2008) and showed a few seconds of the construction of USS Enterprise. This was played over sounds from US space exploration, including clips of President John F. Kennedy speaking on space exploration, and radio transmissions from the Apollo XI moon mission. At the end of the trailer, as the camera pans up to the semi-complete saucer section, Leonard Nimoy begins to speak the words “Space, the final frontier…”

Goofs: Anachronisms: The Enterprise is being showed constructed using “stick” welding. This is a type of welding used exclusively on low - grade steel only. Even in the 20th Century spacecraft were not made of steel, but aluminum, and other More exotic materials. And most certainly, any metal parts would not be joined by the use of stick welding.
